About Liesel Wessels

Liesel Wessels is a Christian Portrait Artist from Bloemfontein, South Africa.

Her passion for art led her to take an art course at the Ernst de Young Academy in Pretoria (2002).  Before she pursued B.A Fine Arts at the University of Free State (2003 – 2006).

Liesel’s personal work focuses mainly on portrait and figurative art.  Her inspiration comes from her personal relationship with God.  However, her work also has a strong focus on positivity and women empowerment.  She loves capturing the likeness of each person she portrays.  In addition, to the emotional or story behind each piece.

Liesel has sold her work online to various collectors all over South Africa.  As well as overseas (Spain, France, Australia, New Zealand, and USA).

In a Nutshell, her personal work is inspired by the following verse.

“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, honorable, right,  pure, lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise”

– Philippians 4:8
